The number of Internet users is increasing, but not all of them have the same backgrounds, as the goals of some may be fraudulent, such as obtaining money or information and blackmail. As for the methods, they are deceptive and convincing to the point of stripping the victim of logic and being led to carry out the fraudster’s requests.

#Cybercriminals are becoming more sophisticated and experienced with time. Their social skills and level of manipulation with victims also develop, as their methods and tricks are many. Such as:

● #Friendly_fraud: which occurs intentionally or accidentally to e-commerce companies. The hacker may claim that he is a customer of the company and has received damaged goods or goods that were not delivered to him at all. Thus, the company compensates the fake customer, whether in cash or by sending him other goods.

● #Fake_stores: The victims of this method are often people between the ages of 25 and 34, due to the tendency of owners of this age group towards online shopping. Thus, fake online stores can deceive customers and collect money from them by making them believe that they are real stores and of course have their own fake customers.

● #ThreatFraud: Where the fraudster resorts to threatening victims with death or blackmailing them by publishing information and pictures of them if they do not pay a certain amount.

● Fake antivirus: It is a small warning window that appears to the user while browsing the Internet, enticing him to download a free antivirus to get rid of the virus that has infected the device, specifying its name and location. Once the victim is tricked into this trick, which is a malicious program, the hacker can access information, pictures, and private details about the user, enabling them to expand their circle of pumping.

● Job opportunity fraud: Many people send their CVs to many recruitment offices and websites with the aim of obtaining work. Hackers may be able to exploit this matter and collect information about their victims from fake employment sites with the aim of stealing their identities, bank cards, etc.

The Internet is the main center for electronic fraud. Everyone has become very attached to smartphones and devices to stay in touch with the outside world, friends and relatives, which has made it easier for hackers and hackers to catch their prey. As long as this #technology is the primary guide to our daily lives, we as users must be careful with whom we communicate, avoid intruders, and not share private and sensitive information in order to remain safe.

And always remember, dear reader, that you are vulnerable to hacking, deception, and threats, through text messaging programs, e-mail, electronic games, and other applications.

Of course, your personal rights include the freedom to enjoy and use technology, but your duties also include protecting yourself and providing yourself with the highest level of awareness so that you do not fall into the trap of users of the same technology who are harmful.

Protect yourself, avoid falling victim to cybercriminals and report them to deter them.
