Cybersecurity awareness is the responsibility of every individual in society

#Security_awareness is a preventive process for the individual and society, which must be carried out continuously across all segments to avoid problems and to protect everything related to the individual and the facility. Security awareness starts from home upbringing all the way to school and the workplace.

After we went through the Corona virus pandemic and were forced to work remotely, #cybersecurity_awareness has become a necessity, especially since most technical problems and exposure to hacks or #cyber_attacks occur due to the error of an individual or employee. According to the IBM Cybersecurity Intelligence Index report, 95% of #cybersecurity breaches are primarily caused by human error. While organizations spend a lot of money and resources on strengthening their technology defenses, they often ignore the human side of security.

One of the most important examples of successful companies incurring losses and being exposed to threats due to human errors resulting from a lack of #security_awareness: Toyota Boshoku was subjected to a BEC attack that cost it $37.3 million due to human error. A phishing attack also led to a Sequoia Capital employee falling victim last year. The leading wire and cable manufacturer, Leoni EG, was forced to pay $44 million due to fraud and a devastating BEC attack, through which cybercriminals impersonated the company’s first German CEO and sent an email to an employee working in the financial department. In 2018, an employee at Strathmore High School accidentally posted records related to more than 300 students on the school’s intranet, revealing highly sensitive information and conditions from which they suffer, such as hyperactivity disorder, attention deficit disorder, acquired brain injury, Asperger syndrome, and autism.

So no matter how many complex and expensive technological security solutions are invested in facilities and companies, business will only be secure when the human side of the organization is defensible as well. Therefore, #security_awareness programs must be imposed, such as security awareness for senior management and technical and general security awareness, which reflects a positive change in employee behavior, which in turn will strengthen the security culture and encourage him to adhere to safe practices in his daily activities. It is also necessary to ensure that everyone in the business uses resources and information in the correct way and that all employees achieve and maintain a basic level of understanding of #informationsecurity issues such as general obligations, standards, procedures and guidelines.

CyberX is always ready to provide targeted awareness programs because #security_awareness is the responsibility of every individual and information security is a red line.
