A 12-year-old Moroccan hacker wins the President’s Cup for Cybersecurity

Last Tuesday, the 12-year-old Moroccan child prodigy, Rayan Ait Taher, won the President’s Cup cybersecurity competition. It is an event organized every five years by the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

Moroccan talent in the field of #cybersecurity took first place in the competition with 3,245 points, beating many competitors, including Israeli Yonatan Yoni .

The competition included remote tests and diagnostics of vulnerabilities in computer systems prepared by  CISA  .

The Moroccan child prodigy received a congratulatory letter from CISA , in which the organization’s official expressed his “admiration” for the young prodigy, according to Moroccan state media SNRTNews.

The President’s Cup for Cybersecurity competition aims to identify and recognize the best talents in the field of #cybersecurity in the world.  Competitors usually face different challenges that require extensive skills in the field of cybersecurity .

In a previous statement to the National Radio and Television Agency,  Ait Taher  expressed his satisfaction with competing in international competitions as a “personal challenge .”

He talked about winning many international awards thanks to his distinguished professional hacking skills, mentioning in particular how he “managed to change the location of the logo on Neymar’s website .” “They didn’t believe it at first, so they asked me for a report on what I did, which allowed me to win the first prize of $72,000  However, I did not receive it because I am a minor,” Ryan said.
