Egypt manufactures electronics

Many companies specialized in the fields of #electronics design, including semiconductors and integrated electronic circuits, have recently turned their attention to Egypt, to take advantage of its distinguished geographical location linking the East and the West, in addition to the abundance of human resources, skills, and university graduates in various specializations in abundance.

As for semi-transports, they can be found in thousands of products such as #computers, smartphones, home appliances, gaming consoles, and medical equipment. It is a product that usually consists of silicone.

Recently, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly signed a memorandum of understanding between the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA), the American company Synopsys, and the Egyptian SI Vision company, to expand the activities of exporting electronics and semiconductor design services. And embedded systems from Egypt.

In his role as CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority, Eng. Ahmed Al-Zaher, he said: “Under the memorandum of understanding, the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) will provide the necessary support to the American company Synopsys and its strategic partner, SI Vision, to expand their activities in Egypt in The field of #electronics design, including intellectual property systems in the design of semiconductors for electronic circuits and integrated systems, within the framework of the presidential initiative “Egypt Manufactures Electronics,” adding that: “The memorandum of understanding stipulates the creation of 500 new job opportunities for Egyptian youth with specialized competencies.”

Amid the boom in the outsourcing industry and Egypt’s ranking third in the world in the field of exporting this type of services, many international companies specialized in developing automotive software and systems have announced the expansion of their operations or the opening of new headquarters in Egypt, including the international company Luxoft, the German company Fekl Evo, and… French Valeo, which was recently visited by the Egyptian Prime Minister, is part of a group of global outsourcing companies’ headquarters in the Smart Village.

According to the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, the government in Egypt aims to double digital exports of ICT products and services, electronics design, and embedded software to reach $9 billion by the end of 2026, thus enhancing Egypt’s position as a center for value-added and knowledge-based services.
